THREE NIGHTS, THREE GAMES, THREE WINS

Bradford, Ontario

The Bradford Bulls won three games in three nights to recapture first place in the GMHL. Strong victories over the Toronto Attack, Knights of Meaford and Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks Lumberjacks has Bradford sitting at 14-0-1 on a fourteen game win streak.

Russian goaltender Sergey Bolshakov notched his first shutout as a Bull on Wednesday at home against the Toronto Attack. The Bulls pounded 51 shots at the Attack net on the way to winning the match 4-0. Finish import Verneri Pellinen was named third star of the game after scoring a goal and assist. Other scorers included Wallenhorst, Anderson and Daniel Gowans.

Thursday the Bulls were in Meaford to take on the Knights. With over 500 Knight fans in the stands, Bradford took the game 6-4 final. Bradford jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first, but the Knights battled back to make the game close. With 10 minutes remaining in the third period, the game was tied 4-4 with Meaford having the crowd and momentum behind them. This was before a clutch goal from nineteen year old defenceman Quinn Hulse. This was Hulse's first goal as a Bull and first of his junior hockey career to give the Bulls the lead 5-4. Jacob Bauchman would add an insurance marker shortly after to give the Bulls the win.

Daniel Gowans was named first star of the game after notching three points (2g, 1a) to help Bradford to a 6-4 victory over the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks. Bradford heavily outshot their opponent 41-17 despite the close score. Captain Dalton Mills had three points of his own (1g, 2a) and second year forward John Champlain scored his first of the season. Other goal scorers for the Bulls included Pellinen, Litviak and Bauchman.

The Bulls next  face their cross town rival Bradford Rattlers next Wednesday, October 30th at Bob Fallis Arena. Puck Drop is 8:00PM. This game has special importance for the Bulls; the Rattlers are the only team to of defeated the Bulls. This was in a shootout during their season opener in September. Come on out and show your support for the Bulls as they look for their fifteenth win in a row.
