NEW LOOK BULLS WIN THREE

Bradford, Ontario
December 15, 2013

The Bradford Bulls are back to their winning ways. Three games this week all resulted in wins to reclaim fourth place in the GMHL with a record of 21-4-4. Bradford defeated Shelburne, Mattawa and Bracebridge.

Jay Croop made his season debut, scoring two goals and being named second star of the game, during a 7-3 victory over the Shelburne Red Wings last Wednesday. Captain Dalton Mills had three assists of his own to entertain the home crowd. Jon Stand picked up his fifth victory on the year to improve to 5-0-0. Stephen Heape, Fredrick Sury, Quinn Hulse, Iiro Leppanen and Jacob Fallis all had singles on the evening.

On Friday, the Bulls traveled to Mattawa to take on the Voyageurs, winning 7-4 final. Jay Croop had another strong evening with three points (2g, 1a). However, the strongest Bull on the evening was Verneri Pellinen who had three goals and an assist and was named first star. Mills and Shchenkov also found the back of the net.

Bolshakov found himself back between the pipes in a close 4-3 victory over the Bracebridge Phantoms yesterday evening. It was the defense core that shined in this game; all four Bull goals were scored from the blue line. The game went to overtime, with Kyle Wallenhorst getting the OT winner. Russian Sergey Shchenkov scored twice and newly signed Braeden Foote scored his first goal in a Bull jersey.

Finish import Verneri Pellinen has taken over as the Bull's top point getter. His 16 goals and 21 assists totals to 37 points in just 28 games. Captain Dalton Mills sits second with 33 points (10g, 23a) and Jacob Bauchman third (25g, 8a).

Looking ahead, the Bulls have the College Showcase Classic upcoming. This is a showcase tournament that takes place in Toronto, Ontario where scouts & recruiters attend. Confirmed for this year are scouts from the NCAA, CIS, Major Junior and Minor Professional ranks of hockey.

More information will be posted in the coming days before the tournament.
